Hydrops allantois (Hydro allantois)
This condition is uncommonly seen in dairy cattle and buffaloes. Accumulation of excessive allantoic fluid may be progressive after mid gestation. As much as 10 fold increase in allantoic fluid accumulation may occur. Placental dysfunction and nutritional deficiencies are attributed for this condition. Improvement of nutrition is sometimes helpful in treating the animal if diagnosed early.
