Huge role in determining who and where the crimes take place

Assignment problem: The first main point that stood out to me was that out of every 10,000 people, 3,400 more black people are stopped than white people.  I just can't wrap my head around that number. That is a significant total that I feel has to be biased and maybe racist. It also said that black people are 127% more likely to be frisked than whites, even though they are found with nothing a high percentage of the time compared to white people. That system is bizarre to think about. Another point I found insane was that if a kid was walking by and had a writing utensil in their pocket, they could be entered into a gang database because it may look like a weapon. This may prevent them from getting a Scholarship and following their dreams. I feel bad because that is so unfair to them since they did nothing wrong. They could just be an innocent child walking to school and the next thing they know they are a criminal. Something needs to be done to fix that issue. I have mixed feelings about the proposed data intelligent data system. It is a good thought and effort to stop crime, but I do feel that racism plays a huge role in determining who and where the crimes take place. At the same time, if a crime is committed by the same race over and over, I don't know how they would set it up to not look racist.
