FYI...One aspect of managed care that has worked is the pooling together of physicians from various managed care groups to form larger managed care plans or programs and reduce costs to patients. i think that managed care programs have been successful in providing patient access to more physicians, increasing patients volumes, and ultimately increasing revenue for managed care organizations. Expanding managed care has been successful in controlling costs, because it allows for more midlevel physicians to be grouped together, thus giving more affordable costs to patients, and in creasing more revenue because of the ability to increase patient enrollment and participation.
