a) What is the function of public radio and TV in a democratic society? How does your local public radio or TV station fulfill this purpose? Is there a role for public radio / TV in the future of media?
b) Since their inception, the music and movie industries have tried to balance artistic expression and commercial success. Do you think this balance has shifted during your lifetime, and if so in what way? Provide an example.
