Assignment task: Leadership development is about you, the student and your initiative to learn leadership. What you know about yourself, your skills, competencies, attitudes, values, etc. all go into making a unique development adventure. This assignment is intended to allow each student the opportunity to demonstrate how they are approaching their leadership development.
The textbook has many activities to engage in, self-assessments, etc. Students will also have unique opportunities outside of the classroom where they can develop their leadership CORE competencies. Students must choose and use at least 5 of the in-text development activities that would best support their own leadership development. Students must be able to provide evidence to support which activities were conducted.
Deliverable/s: 5 unique "one pager" documents (might be two pages each) clearly showing how or what you learned, and how your learning applied to your leadership development. Please cite and reference your work. Among the 5 "one pagers", you need to use peer reviewed articles and other resources like leadership books, videos, or podcasts to add credibility to your learning reflections (minimum of 2 per "one pager"). Choose credible resources and provide references and links.
While a "one pager" could be written, students are encouraged to try different ways to communicate information. So the "one pager" could also be a mindmap, a chart, a graphic representation, picture/s with caption/s showing the process, a slide with a voiceover recording, etc. Leaders use various ways to communicate and this is the student's opportunity to try something new.
