How your chosen author uses ethos pathos logos etc

Problem

The purpose of the, "I have a dream" speech, is to condemn racial discrimination and uphold the rights and freedoms of all Americans protected by the Constitution and Declaration of independence. King states, "This note was a promise that all men-yes, black men as well as white men-would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" (1963). The claim made by King is that despite significant events such as the Emancipation Proclamation, the Constitution and the Declaration of independence, black were still facing discrimination and inequalities.

The overall structure layout of the speech follows a logical flow of ideas. The speech has an introduction (cashing the check), main body (peace) and the conclusion (dream) which allows the reader to easily transition from one idea to another. The style of writing of the speech is persuasive in which King reasons, argues and justifies the need for blacks to obtain equal rights and freedoms as whites based on here phases of cashing the check, calling for peace and making the dream come true. The introduction, in this regard, hooks in the reader in which the speaker states he is making history in regards to demonstrating freedom. The speech starts to wind down with the speaker stating is dream in which whites and blacks will live together in harmony .The conclusion restates the main purpose and claim of the speech thus making it a strong message. On the other hand, it provides a false notion that freedom has already been achieved when more still needs to be done.
