Read the following case example and answer the questions that follow.
Terrance is a 13-year-old 8th grader, who is an average student. He is rarely ever disruptive in class and gets along well with his peers. His teacher always noticed that he was normally high-strung, but lately he has been particularly anxious and irritable. One morning, the teacher touched his shoulder to get his attention and he winced in pain. When she asked if he was hurt, he looked down and wouldn't answer. The teacher asked again more directly, and he interjected that he was fine.
That same day, the teacher took her concerns about Terrance's behavior to the school social worker. The school social worker planned to meet with Terrance after lunch.
