How would you respond to this-When I think of example of statical thinking, I am reminded of my internship this past summer. Statistical thinking often goes hand in hand with data analysis. I did a lot of data analysis at my internship this past summer. Myself, and a team of 5 others worked on some major projects this summer where we had to figure out how to better capture the Hispanic market. We were working for the parent company of several grocery store chains, and they wanted to know what the proper assortment that we needed to have in order to attract more hispanic shoppers to the stores, and what prices did we need to have the products at for them to buy. Throughout this project we did a lot of statistical thinking while diving deep into the data to learn as much as we could about this demographic group. One of the ways that we used statistical thinking was though conducing a survey. We worked with another department in the business to draft up and launch a survey for hispanics to take all though out the Northeastern United States. We got a lot of valuable knowledge form this survey, and analyzing the data we got form it took a large amount of statistical thinking.
