As we will learn in more detail, the economics of the leagues are rooted in the agreement between the owners and players for each respective league. These Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) often come at the tail end of strikes and/or lockouts. So as a fan it is good new whenever these agreements come during times of peace. Plenty to digest with the biggest change being the number of games played. If you were a player rep how would you have voted and why?
