How would you convince the client to continue in therapy

Assignment task:

I have a close friend who recently told me that she "graduated" therapy and I thought it was such a beautiful way of putting it - therapy was an educational part of her life, where she learned about who she is, what she values, why she does the things she does. Therapy gave her the tools to stand on her own two feet and rise above life's obstacles. For my friend, she also felt ready and her therapist felt that she was ready. My question is, what happens if you have a client who has only been in therapy for a few months for depression and suicidal thoughts. The client insists that he/she is ready to end therapy even though you know that they are clearly not ready, based on the progress you have been tracking. How would you remedy this situation and convince the client to continue in therapy
