Problem
Most of today's social groups are considered "complex" by archaeological standards; however, we know that for much of human history, peoples subsisted as egalitarian mobile hunter-gatherers. Domestication of plants and animals drastically changed our world.
How would studying a mobile-hunter-gatherer site differ from studying an early state site? How might the survey/excavation methods differ, and how the archaeological evidence would differ at each site?
