Using your favorite search engine, search for videos about "scanning medical records." Watch at least two videos to understand the process of scanning medical records into document imaging systems.
After viewing the videos, compose a one page (3-4 paragraph) reaction paper comparing the process of direct entry of documentation in the EHR to the process of scanning. Consider the following in your paper:
• Comparison between information entered directly into the EHR and a scanned image
• Consider the data format - discrete data vs. non-discrete data as discussed in the lecture - what type of data is more beneficial?
• How would scanning records contribute to the accuracy and completeness of the EHR?
