Unit 2.2 DB: Impact

As generations continue to evolve, I've learn to separate my professional life from my personal life to avoid any discrimination. Negatively, the only bad aspect personally would be others that I personally know thinking they have entitlement, which ends up creating friction with my career. I think the best thing to do in any business related job to always set boundaries to avoid confusion. "As we journey with those who come to us, we provide a safe holding space where they can experience their emotions, process their hurts and, in time, heal." Wicks, R. J. & Buck, T. C. (2014). This is what motivates me to continue awareness on how important it is to seek help from professionals. As a counselor, I think that you have to be willing to accept a certain level of self awareness to avoid the burden of being treated differently. The positive aspect of being a counselor would create more networking opportunities for me to learn more about the field as a counselor. It will strength my communication skills, and my mindset would expand in ways I could've never imagine. It will impact my life in a positive way, because each day I am learning more and more, due to communicating with people daily. Also, I'm able to help others in need of finding right direction towards their destiny. In society, we are mentors that holds a special role in solving the challenges in the world through our clients.
