• As an MOA, you will be in charge of scheduling and referring patients as well as handling walk-in emergency patients. How will you demonstrate proper office skills and etiquette? As you will often be the first person to greet patients, you will need to be able to identify and communicate the signs and symptoms of major medical conditions. You will have to take care of all of these tasks while demonstrating proper office skills and etiquette. Reflect on how you will be able to handle all of these responsibilities effectively. • As an MOA or AHA, you will be dealing with billing and insurance issues. Many patients will have questions for you about how their insurance works and what their insurance companies will provide for them. How are you going to handle these questions? What will you say to help patients better understand insurance coverage? How can you help the patients in your office develop an understanding of health care coverage and interpret the information contained on the patient's insurance card?
