In the final meeting for 2017 the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve voted unanimously to hike interest rates to 1.50% up from 1.25%. The central bank also hinted at future rate hikes. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) expects that economic conditions will evolve in a manner that will warrant gradual increases in the federal funds rate.
