Contact your own insurance agent (or any property and casualty agent). Ask him/her of an example of a client who tried to misrepresent facts or conceal important items. Do not ask for names. Do designate whether this client was single or married and their approximate age.
How was the concealment or misrepresentation discovered by the agent or the company?
What action was taken after these were revealed? Did these facts come out at the time of underwriting or at the time of a claim?
Did this action cost the company a claim? If so, was the claim paid or how was the settlement handled? Did the insurance company cancel the policy, or did they remain on the risk?
