1. The war on drugs has been ongoing for over a century. Americans still, however, continue to use illicit/illegal drugs with no end in sight. What reasons would interactionist and functionalist theorists give for the continued use of illegal drugs in our society?
2. Based on research, girls' self-esteem decline more rapidly than boys during adolescence, which typically begins around the age of 12. What reasons might the feminist perspective give for this decline?
3. From an interactionist perspective, please describe the various ways in which you were socialized to become a man or a woman? Be sure to provide specific experiences and examples of how various agents of socialization have shaped your view of gender.
4. Is our educational system designed to equally educate all students? How would the conflict and functionalist perspectives answer this question?
