Problem:
You are given two specifiers for MDD, need to write a vignette for each specifier. So you will be inventing a client that is suffering from MDD. In order to complete this you will need to have the criteria for MDD available and an understanding of each of the specifiers. Introduce the client with mention to their age and ethnicity and any other immediately observable features (think MSE) as well as the main reason the client is coming to therapy, from their perspective. A the client comes because something is bothering them or impacting their life. Discuss briefly the history of the problem, when and how it started and any pertinent family history or personal history. Discuss current symptoms and how they are impacting the functioning of client. When describing symptoms this is where you need to elaborate and provide clear examples of the diagnostic criteria so I can visualize the symptoms of the specifier here. So the symptoms you describe will be both MDD symptoms as well as symptoms that specifically apply to the specifier.
