In the reading material and from my prior knowledge, mean is described as the average number within a number set. Median is described as the middle number within a group of numbers. Lastly mode is the most common number within a group of numbers. Standard deviation is a measure of the mean or average of all listed number in a formula. This information can help us when elevating data, and looking for common numbers or averages of numbers within the data we are reviewing.
In my professional life I review budgets quarterly, these formulas for reviewing data is essential. These formulas can give you a compassion from the previous quarter, as well as give you a projection of where the budget is trending whether its up or down. When using these formulas to evaluate budgets, it's good knowing these formulas in order to prepare for either cut-backs, or whether to place a higher budget in different areas. In my personal life these formulas are useful when calculating monthly budgets and bills. It can show you where you are financially as well as where the majority of your money is being spent month to month.
