Regardless of your concentration, it is highly likely that you will be involved in the management of change as a leader, manager, or consultant. Certainly, you will be involved in a change project related to this course and the course following this one. Refer to the Akdere and Azevedo article.

There is a body of knowledge specializing in how to realize change in human systems. This discipline is known as organization development and change (ODC). The field of ODC provides a wealth of methods and theories for change.

Starting with the definitions of organization development (OD) and ODC presented in this article, what is your definition of ODC? Keep in mind that your own personal definition should be supported by the research and scholarship in ODC or related fields.

Part II

Using the Altrichter, Kemmis, McTaggart, and Zuber-Skerritt article as a starting point, what are the intentions of action research? (We will explore the step-by-step processes later.)

Part III

Combining this definition with your understanding of OD and action research (AR), what is your definition of management consulting? Explain your rationale. Review the Appelbaum and Steed article.
