How to produce a drawn and printed set of architectural

PROJECT OUTLINE:

In this project we will learn how to produce a drawn and printed set of architectural drawings of a contemporary house using AutoCAD.
You will choose a partner for this project. You and your partner will draw one of the following case study houses for this project:

House for Architects and Artists, AFGH, 2002-03

All plans and photos of the houses are available on archdaily.com

You are encouraged to find supplementary information as necessary. You can use CAD blocks ( e.g. for furniture, trees) as necessary.
You are to redraw the plans, elevations and sections using AutoCAD and to lay out your presentation on 24" by 36"paper (You will be printing B&W drawings on a large printer).

The style of the drawing, use of line weights, poche, layout, and typography should be informed by the drawing style of the architect you study.

The printed panels should include the following:

a. Floor plans, sections, elevations

b. Scale 1:50 (1/4" = i'-o")

c. North arrow, legend, people, trees (if applicable), furniture, landscape and ground lines etc.

d. A short text describing a key concept behind the house, and a description of its main features.

You will present the printed drawings in class. Most of the drawings shoud be completed by March 1st, leaving you enough time in the final week to layout and print. You will be submitting both the .pdf of your layout and the original .drw file.
