Problem

A. Cardiorespiratory fitness (Lab 3.1): Complete either the 1 mile walk or 1.5 walk run. Find a track to complete the assessment or use g.p.s. to map out a flat walk. 11 laps = 1 miles

B. Muscle fitness (Lab 4.2): Complete the push-up test and squat endurance test.

C. Trunk muscular endurance (Lab 5.3): Complete the side-bridge assessment.

D. Conduct the assessment of flexibility (Lab 5.1, part II). Use a mirror for visual assessment Ask a friend to help for ones you can do yourself.

E. Conduct assessment of body composition (Lab 6.1): Use a scale and a tape measure and calculate your BMI, waist circumference and waist to hip ratio.

Task

1. Determine your fitness classification for each test. Complete the table below with your results and turn it in with the assignment.

2. Set goals (3rd column in table) based on your fitness classification using the fitness tables provided with the lab. Put these goals in the table below.

3. Write 2 to 3 page, double-spaced report that includes at least the following:

A. A reflection on your expectations prior to completing the results and after reviewing your results. Discuss each component of fitness.

B. Did you have fitness goals prior to the assessment, and if so are they similar after reviewing your results? Discuss each component of fitness.

a. How they relate to your personal health and fitness goals.

b. Are your goals realistic with your current responsibilities as a student and otherwise?
