Adverse Childhood Experiences & Historical Trauma. This course is an introduction to the study of adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and its implications for the fields of social work, education, epigenetics, medical/health sciences and psychology. Emphasis is placed on the 10 categories of adverse childhood experiences and how the stress and trauma of adversity can be transferred through generations. This course is an intensive study of the impact that historical, collective and racial trauma have on physical health, psychological and societal outcomes.
