Assignment task:
Learning about the history and ongoing intergenerational impact of residential schools on people who are First Nations, Métis, and Inuit can be very difficult. We can feel overwhelmed. While it is important to feel these hard feelings, there is hope and that comes to us in the form of the 94 Calls to Action that resulted from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Whatever your chosen field of study, there is a very high likelihood that there is at least one Call to Action that applies to you and where you see yourself heading in your career. Take the time to read through the Calls to Action and locate at least one of them that applies to you professionally and/or personally.
In your discussion of this call to action I want you to express your understanding of how the legacy of residential schools has led to the need for this call and how you see yourself contributing to fulfilling it as you approach the future.
