Problem: A patient has suffered an injury to their leg. As a result of the injury, several motor units in their muscle have been damaged. The motor neurons innervating (supplying) these muscles are no longer working. Using the information regarding excitation-contraction coupling of muscle tissue, describe why this injury may cause the muscle to NOT be able to contract.
