I require advice on German Income Tax. I am a UK Citizen, and I work for an International Company (not UK based) offshore, >180 days per year. As a result I qualify for the UK's Seafarers Deduction (SED) of 100& of all income taxes. However I now want to move to Germany, and take a residence there. My employment remains the same.
Q: How the German Laws will assist me as a seafarer, and whether or not I can claim seafarers reduction (German equivalent obviously) on my income tax- no doubt I will have to fill a German Tax Return. Does German Law have any other tax schemes for Seafarers?
