Read the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution through the National Archives.
Write an 800 to 1200 word paper in which you discuss the following:
• How the Constitution addressed the complaints in the Declaration of Independence?
• How the Constitution addressed the weaknesses in the Articles of Confederation?
• Discuss the Great Compromise and how representation of states in Congress is determined?
• Discuss the North-South Compromise and how representation of states in Congress was determined. Note: This is not the North-South Compromise of 1850. This is the North-South Compromise at the Constitutional Convention of 1787.
• Additional points to be covered as part of the above:
• What are the differences of the power of Congress to tax between the Articles and the Constitution?
• Can individual states be deprived of their equal representation in the Senate?
• What is the role of the Census in determining representation in the House of Representatives?
