Assignment task: Technology is a great tool that allows healthcare facilities to train employees. One way healthcare agencies can provide staff with education is through simulation. Simulation allows employees to experience real-life circumstances to gain knowledge. An advantage of this is that it allows for repetitive practice, feedback, and curriculum integrations. A disadvantage of simulations is that the simulation can be improved regarding rigor and quality to make the education most effective. (Guze, 2015)
Healthcare agencies can use patient portals to provide education for patients. An advantage to patient portals is that patients have access to providers before, during, and after healthcare services. This allows patients to ask questions about the diagnosis or medication, etc. A disadvantage is that patients prefer in-person communication, and depending on their comfort, patients may be unable to navigate the portal properly or effectively.
