Problem
Produce a working thesis where you outline your preliminary argument (it does not have to be a perfected thesis), the type of questions your current research has raised, and those questions you wish to pursue in your project.
Over the course of our term, we have discussed how both sport and media technologies have been used to assemble or disassemble certain identities, be they are national, gendered, racial, etc. Using at least four secondary sources not on the course syllabus, select a sports object (sports star, sports team, league, etc) and explore how its identity has been articulated through two media formats (television, social media, newspaper articles, trading cards, etc). In doing so, be sure to explore the differences or similarities between these two media in articulating this identity and its stakes within larger inclusionary or exclusionary frameworks.
