How society sorts people into different layers

Problem: I need a response to this discussion including questions: Hi Class, According to Macionis (2020), social stratification is how society sorts people into different layers based on things like money, power, and status. Social class is one way this happens, shaping where people live, what kind of education they get, and the chances they have in life. In Chapter 4, Macionis (2020) explains that gender is another kind of stratification, since men and women are often treated and valued differently. For example, women are still paid less than men for similar work, men are more likely to hold top leadership positions, and women often carry most of the childcare responsibilities, even when they also work full-time. These inequalities give some people more opportunities while limiting others, especially when gender and class overlap. A woman working a low-wage job might struggle to afford childcare or education, which keeps her from moving up. These patterns keep inequality going and shape people's daily lives in very real ways. -Brooke Reference Macionis, J. J. (2020). Social problems (8th ed.). Pearson. Need Assignment Help?
