Through discrepancies, we can recognize areas of disconnect between ideas, practices, beliefs, theories, and so on. As you read the text, consider what leads to discrepancies. Also consider how significant it is to address discrepancies. Do you place more emphasis on a certain type of discrepancy? Does your position within the educational system affect which discrepancies you feel need to be changed or addressed? Who should be responsible for addressing certain issues?
