Slow steaming is an approach which permits ships to lower fuel costs by moving slowly but arriving at a predictable time. Slow steaming decreases greenhouse gas emissions too. But shippers face possibly higher inventory costs. How should a shipper decide whether or not to use slow steaming as part of a supply chain strategy?
