Problem
There are a number of challenges present when handling data, and not all of them are related to the data itself. Technology evolves quickly, with new developments happening all the time. Hardware and software upgrades can be as critical to data handling as managing the actual information. Examples of these technologies range from cloud storage, Amazon Web Services (AWS), software as a service, and outsourcing data management to the ability to store large quantities of data on a very small device. These and other emerging technologies may prompt changes in data handling procedures.
For the response, do the following:
Select a technology that was created within the past 10 years, or a technology that has undergone a significant change in that period of time. You may use the examples in the paragraph above or select one of your own.
i. Give an example of how the chosen new technology affected your work as a data professional.
ii. If you do not have data professional experience, give an example of how that technology change could affect that role.
iii. How did/could your selected technology change affect data management practices? Were the impacts positive, negative, or both?
iv. Share your thoughts on their assessment on not chosen technology.
