How remote and hybrid work become normal in workplace

Problem: Remote and hybrid work have become the "new normal" in the current workplace. This study aims to investigate how post-acceptance MICT use influenced by the new technology environment in the remote work context affects employee well-being. Our findings indicate that as key technology structuration sources, both autonomy and timeliness positively influence employees' routine MICT use. Furthermore, there are significant mediation effects of routine MICT use on the relationships between autonomy and job satisfaction/technology overload, and between timeliness and job satisfaction. Collectively, the findings offer new theoretical angles and contextual implications to further investigate consumer IT use for work purposes, which has become increasingly prevalent in the post-pandemic.
