How reflection an important activity for practicing nurse

Problem:

Reflection is an important activity for the practicing nurse. The purpose of reflection is to create more thoughtful, self-aware, and reflective nurses who will ultimately contribute to improved quality of care. Reflection requires the nurse to consider an experience, question or thought, and promote critical thinking skills, exploration of concepts and exemplars, all leading to professional development and lifelong learning (Billings & Halstead, 2016). The RN is to reflect on the clinical experience providing comprehensive responses describing feelings and thoughts supported with examples from clinical experiences (use the rubric to guide journal writing). Application of learning and progress towards meeting clinical course objectives, and end of program student learning outcomes (on the final reflection) are also documented. Reflection should be in essay/paper format, APA not required. Address each part described below and, on the rubrics, (headers may be helpful to organize the paper). Part 1: Reflection Content- Feelings and Thoughts: Answers the 4 items (provide a comprehensive response describing feelings and thoughts, support response with examples from the day's experiences): 1. What have you learned about yourself because of your community clinical experience (consider specifically part III of the community assessment project, the family assessment project and the disaster management activity)? o How does this learning influence your professional development as a RN?
