Problem:
Add some information from this to my paragraph Psychometrics is "the science of psychological measurement" (Cohen et al., 2022, p.9). This is relevant when considering the soundness (i.e., how well an assessment does what it was intended to do) of a psychological measurement. When determining the psychometric soundness of a measurement, it is essential to evaluate reliability (consistency of measure) and validity (accuracy of measure). A good test is reliable, meaning the test measures the same attribute consistently and is stable over time. A good test is also valid, meaning it measures what it intends to measure. Reliability is the consistency of the measure. There are four types of reliability that are of importance when discussing psychological assessment. These types include test-retest reliability, equivalent forms reliability, internal consistency reliability, and inter-rater reliability (Johnson & Christensen, 2013). Test-retest reliability refers to the stability of scores over re-administration of the same measure. One calculates the test scores obtained at Point A by a group of people and then correlates them with the test scores obtained at Point B by the same group of people. The more time that elapses between administrations, the lower the test-retest reliability, generally speaking (Johnson & Christensen, 2013; Kaplan & Saccuzzo, 2018). Need Assignment Help?
