Question 1. I have wondered how "portable" the Six Sigma culture would be. What is the value placed upon having a Six Sigma background when changing jobs or careers? I expect it will increase in value as more organizations use it or similar quantifiable quality production methods. "Quantifiable quality." That's somewhat of an oxymoron, isn't it?
Question 2. I would agree that a lot of people didn't see the tsunami coming. However, don't you think that after Katrina, some of these people would get a clue that natural disasters do occur and risk mitigation has to be part of the business plan? Hmmm. Maybe putting up a sign that says don't be greedy is risk mitigation. Or at least limiting the flow of inventory for sale.
Question 3. What can a global organization do to rely on these methods to become more competitive and efficient?
