How people respond when they encounter cultures foreign

Problem: Sociologists are interested in how people respond when they encounter cultures foreign to their own. Ethnocentrism is the practice of seeing things only from your own cultural point of view. Cultural relativism is the habit of trying to understand and judge practices in the cultural context in which they occur.

Think of a situation where the norms, values and beliefs of the dominant culture are very different from your own.  For example, the restroom only has a hole in the floor or you can only take one shower a week.  Would you follow those cultural practices or would you follow you own?  Don't use examples like changing your religion or other major social changes.

Include at least two concepts mentioned in this week's module in your response.
