cThese rules can range from acts to policies on safety but are set forth based upon review and must be followed or corrective action will occur. To get many of these policies or laws into place interest groups help to lobby for or against prior to the policy going into effect. Though interest groups can influence current policies many times it is easier for change to happen prior to the policy being implemented.
For many areas, healthcare included, it is important for an analysis of how the rulemaking process could affect the organization and healthcare. Many times, these policies have multiple different subparts that could also affect the organization but if a review is not done could easily be missed. Take for example the Affordable Cares Act, many opposed this type of legislation because they felt it would negatively affect our health system. However, the population demanded it and thus it was able to be pushed forward. Now years later the health system is still dealing with the issues that arouse from this act and the population is still in a similar state to what it was. This highlights the importance of analyzing every aspect of a policy or act prior to it being push through because consequences can be felt for years after.
