How ocean depth is measured

Problem:

Chapter 3 Marine Provinces In chapter 3 you will be introduced to the world's 5 major oceans, and the field of bathymetry, which is how ocean depth is measured. You will learn about the features of continental margins, ocean basins, and mid-ocean ridges. 1. Cite our textbook to compare and contrast the world's 5 oceans.  Explain the sensors used to establish depths for a bathymetric chart.  Insert an image of a bathymetric chart and a hydrographic chart (also called a navigation chart) into the text portion of your answer. Do not attach the images.  (Professor clarification: A bathymetric chart differs from a hydrographic chart in that accurate presentation of the underwater features is the goal, while safe navigation is the requirement for the hydrographic chart. A hydrographic chart will obscure the actual underwater features to present a simplified version to aid mariners in avoiding underwater hazards.) Need Assignment Help?
