An adiabatic compressor compresses air from atmospheric pressure and 70 °F at a rate of 10,000 ACFM (actual cubic feet per minute-at inlet conditions) to a pressure of 120 psig and 650 °F. The compressor is powered by a direct - coupled adiabatic steam turbine that takes 8 kg/s of steam at 12.5 MPa and 500 °C and exhaust a saturated mixture of steam/water at 2 MPa and 250 °C.
