In a local health food store and find the section specific to nutrition and exercise. Find items in the following 3 categories: (i) protein and amino acid supplements, (ii) vitamin and mineral supplements and (iii) fluid replacements.
1. Make a list of two products from each category.
2. How much do these items cost? Estimate how much it would cost you to use the product for three months.
3. What claims do these products make about their ability to enhance physical performance?
4. Are there any precautions or guidelines mentioned regarding the consumption of the product?
5. Based on your knowledge of physiology and/or nutrition, are the product claims valid?
