How much did president eisenhower care about civil rights

Problem

During the 1950s, the United States had alot of affairs both at home and abroad. They were involed with the Korean War and the threat of communism was always in the minds of American citizens. Then in 1957, there was incident in Little Rock Arkansas when nine African American students started school at a once segergated high school and there were protests about racial inclusion. In 1957 the Soviets held the 6th International Youth Festival in Moscow where 34,000 people from 130 different countries showcased their cultures to others from around the world. President Eisenhower said a speech in regards to the incident in Little Rock when he said "Our enimies are gloating over this and using it everywhaere to misrepresent our nation" (Eisenhower, 1957) but here is my question with this situation, how much did President Eisenhower care about the civil rights aspect of the Little Rock Nine protest or did he have the thoughts of the Cold War in his mind?
