How might hobbes advise us to use our personal power

Problem

Referring to the work of notable leaders, such as (Marx, Engels, Eisenhower, FDR, & Aristotle) explain the relationship between ethics and power.

For example, how might Hobbes advise us to use our personal power or what does Tolstoy indicate is the way for leaders to behave? Aristotle? Plutarch? Use any or all of the leaders.

Are they telling us to do the same thing or is one asking for something entirely different from what another wants? Do they seek to focus influence upon those within the "organization" or those in the larger society? Whom do they advocate that leaders protect?
