Overview For this discussion, we examine archaeological evidence (e.g.artifacts and ecofacts) and how that contributes to our understanding of how cultures organize and use resources as well as help us gain a better understanding of what it means to be human. Option 1: Discuss how matrix, provenance, and preservation help archaeologists understand cultural evolution? Provide two examples.
Option 2: Discuss how laboratory analysis helps archaeologists identify artifacts and raw materials by describing two artifacts or ecofacts and discussing their functions.
