You will venture out and observe the people around you. Tune out what they are saying and then sit back and watch. Take notes on what type of gestures (emblems, regulators, illustrators, adaptors and affect displays) are they using? How often do they use each one? Are they aware of these gestures? You will then use your notes to write two-page describing what you witnessed. Let us know where you were, the mall, Starbucks, work, etc.. and who was involved, two men sitting at a table...
Describe at least ten separate gestures and answer the following prompts.
a) What type of gesture was used?
b) Name, define and describe each gesture
c) What are the gestures conveying?
d) How many repetitions did the speakers use?
e) Did the speaker seem aware of the gestures?
f) How did the other person react?
g) What are the circumstances?
The response must include a reference list. Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
