How loss of a client can be a difficult experience

Problem: This is a response: The loss of a client can be a difficult experience for many. Their family, friends, and even their counselors may feel the grief associated with loss. Some encounters which counselors may have with confidentiality and the loss of a client may include record requests from insurance companies, potential court subpoenas, and family members who wish to connect to their family member after their passing. One resource which benefits those close to the client as well as the counselor is receiving therapy. Authors Jung, Yeom, and Lee (2021) note that grief counseling offers an outlet and reduction of depression and anxiety associated with loss. Another resource which is especially helpful for counselors in training is a counseling supervisor. As a more experienced counselor and one who is intended to give advice, and address performance assessments, this individual may be a good resource for new counselors to reach out to. Finally, the grieving process looks and feels different for counselors as they have to maintain a level of professionalism but often knew the client intimately due to the nature of counseling (Rubel, 2004). In these cases, counselors should utilize their own support systems such as family and friends. An important consideration is to ensure client confidentiality even in discussions of grief. Respond to this response saying what was good, adding info but not repeating anything already said. The response should total 100-170 words in paragraphs. Need Assignment Help?
