How long will ball take to hit ground

Assume the baseball is shot up from ground straight up with initial velocity of 32 feet per second. The function can be developed by expressing distance above ground, s, as the function of time, t. This function is s = -16t2 + v0t + s0

• 16 represents ½g, gravitational pull due to gravity
• v0 is initial velocity (how hard do you throw object, estimated in feet per second).
• s0 is initial distance above ground (in feet). If you are standing on ground, then s0 = 0.

i) Find function which describes this problem?
ii) Ball will be how high above ground after one second?
iii) How long will it take to hit ground?
iv) Find maximum height of ball?
