Assignment Task:
Paul's perspective:
"In theory, lobbying can be a positive thing. Legislators and government officials need to hear from the people who are affected by the laws they make and the actions they take. Even today, the best form of communication is face-to-face contact. By meeting with the advocates of different positions, officials hear about all sides of an issue. However, I do worry about the nature of the relationships in our current system. For instance, it has become common for high-ranked officials or legislators to become lobbyists after leaving office. In those cases, the advocate for one side or another might be a close friend or even a former boss of the decision-maker, a situation that can make it very difficult to reach an unbiased conclusion. Social networking is a powerful tool of influence in politics and government." Need Assignment Help?
