Discussion : Issues of Privilege, Oppression and Intersectionality in Everyday Life
To better understand how issues of intersectional inequality happen in everyday life, consider the following question, by Saturday:
According to this weeks readings, #19 Williams, "Shopping as Symbolic Interaction and #42 Wingfield, "Racializing the Glass Escalator:
Reconsidering Men's Experiences With Women's Work," how did race, gender, and/or class inequality affect the experience of toy store workers and shoppers (gender/race) and nurses (gender/race)?
Remember that the strongest responses will directly and specifically reference module material, including specific terminology that's relevant to the discussion.
After you post your response, your classmates' responses will become available.
